Q. How do you start your day? Do you have a morning routine?
A.
I usually get up, have coffee take my Magnum DNA and do some HIIT.

Q. How long have you been training?
A.
Ive been training consistent, after the birth of my daughter 10yrs ago but have taken it to another level in the past 4yrs.

Q. What made you get into Fitness and Competition?
A.
It was a friend actually, We decided to do it together for fun.

Q. How many people have you encouraged into the sport since you started?
A.
Hmmm, Not to sure but I would say quite a few. Its always good to set a goal, when your trying to reach any type of result.

Q. What was your body like before you started training?
A.
Well, I gained 85 pounds when I was pregnant, and I stared at 120lbs. I needed some TLC!

Q. How do you keep yourself motivated and on-track through the grueling dieting in the last few weeks?
A.
Its hard for sure but I have a great team of trainers, Dean and Leigh Brandt that help support me and there team through the last grueling weeks.

Q. How do you handle the stress of it all?
A.
I run!!!!!! lol!

Q. Do you get more attention from the people now that you are in such good shape?
A.
I guess, but only because I put myself out there and do my best to market myself. I like to always say “your looks should be a bonus to a great personality” Actually that’s my hubby’s saying! lol! but I agree 100%

Q. What do you feel is the most important thing athlete can have in order to be successful in this sport?
A.
People are attracted to good people, your body and face will only get you so far, so I would say your attitude and determination. Those two things will dial in everything else.

Q. What is your favorite energy/pre-workout supplement? Protein supplement?
A.
Magnum nutraceuticals Vanilla ice cream protein powder, DNA, Loaded, CLA, HEAT

Q. How many days a week do you work out?
A.
6 days a week.

Q. How many exercises per body part do you typically do in a workout?
A.
3 to 4 sets of 15 to 20 reps.

Q. How much weight will you normally gain during the off-season?
A.
10 lbs

Q. How about tanning/makeup/hair preparation for a contest. Can you tell that I’m still overwhelmed?
A.
I’m actually a mobile makeup/ hair artist, So I make myself over. I also take bookings for other competitors needing prep for stage or shoots.

Q. What is your philosophy on diet?
A.
You are what you eat! its so true.

Q. Any holiday eating tips?
A.

Q. What kind of workout program do you follow?
A.
“BodyByBrandt” a Fast paced, heart pounding, calorie burning blast.

Q. What about working out while you are on the road?
A.
I run or take my weights and body bands with me.

Q. Do you believe in workout programs like Insanity or P90X?
A.
Sure I do! Plyo mixed with weights will burns more calories.

Q. Is it not very hard to exercise and lift on such a low calorie diet? I am talking about the pre-contest diet. I know you follow a very low calorie pre-contest diet. Don’t you get hungry?
A.
Yes but mind over matter.

Q. Does your social life include others that are not into fitness or competition?
A.
Yes, some of my friends are into.

Q. What is your favorite healthy meal?
A.
Oats/ Protein powder/ Frozen berry’s.

Q. Favorite guilty indulgence?
A.
Chocolate everything!

Q. What is that one body part that you just can’t seem to bring up or make it look like you want?
A.
My glutes and legs are always something I try to focus on and are always the last to come “in” before the show.

Q. What are your methods for breaking through a plateau?
A.
I like to try a cleanse and eat more veggies for a few weeks.

Q. What are your future plans?
A.
Well, you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled and watch. ;)

Q. What do you want our readers to know about you that they couldn’t find out from seeing you on stage or in print?
A.
I never take myself to seriously and am very down to earth. I have insecurities just like everyone else and do my best to overcome them, anyway I can. I’m just an ordinary girl that’s doing her best to make her dreams a reality, With the support of a very loving man and beautiful daughter.
