Human Growth Hormone
Human Growth Hormone: (also know as HGH, GH, Somatotropin) is an endocrine hormone which is a simple protein made of 191 simple chain amino acids that are in a polypeptide formation. HGH is responsible for controlling most major functions in our bodies. Another important aspect in understanding HGH is that since it is a peptide makes formation more delicate. It is especially important to know this when considering newly introduced supplement on the market. Because of its delicate nature it is receptive to breakdown by gastric acid which is in saliva and stomach acids.
Studies have shown that medically supervised HGH Therapies can turn back the clock on the effects of aging by as much as 10 to 20 years with less than a year of treatment. HGH is an important tool to adding years to your life along with rejuvenating your body physically and mentally.
HGH is a hormone that is produced by an individual's pituitary gland and more specifically pituitary cells (somatotropes). Somatropes are estimated to be the more dominate cell population within the pituitary gland making HGH the most dominant hormone produced. HGH is produced within the first couple of hours of an individual's deep sleep. This production is released in pulses and is not a constant steady release of the hormone. HGH also only remains within the bloodstream for only a brief time. As the hormone travels throughout the blood stream it is then converted to insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). This conversion is the important aspect of where HGH benefits an individual.
Human Growth Hormone Decline: As a person ages the production of HGH begins to decline (Figure 1). Though it is not clearly understood why this hormone begins to decrease but there is thought to be a direct relationship with the aging process. It is also believed that with the increase of somatostatin as a person ages acts as a HGH blocker and decreases stimulation.
Individuals that are experiencing decreases of HGH due to either the inevitable processes of aging and or are HGH deficient experience the following changes; decreased lean body mass, and increase in fat deposits, thinning skin and loss of skin tone, wrinkles, and the interior break down of organ tissue.
