    Default Smoking as a Bodybuilder

Hello fellow members, I am wondering if any of you may have more information about the negative affects smoking has on bodybuilding. I do not smoke cigarettes, however I do smoke cigars (without inhaling). Will this have a counterproductive affect on my efforts in the gym? Thanks for your help and support.

to tell you the truth there is no difference if you smoke or not and you lift or not. What i want to say, that i do smoke and i did smoked when i was getting ready for the shows, its actually helped me because cigarettes do suppress the hunger. And most of bodybuilders do smoke, in europe thats for a fact. So its really not going to effect you. And cigars they harmless. But again please dont take it as do smoke and whatever, no this is not what i am trying to say. Nicotine its not good for you, but lots of people smoking, i do smoke because i like it personally. But i just answered your question thats all

Thanks Jerrywear, I guess I just needed to hear from some pros about mixing the two. I know you are not condoning smoking but merely answering my question. I appreciate your input, thank you again.

Yeah, as Jerry said, smoking definately doesnt change anything a lot when it comes to bodybuilding but it's a no brainer that smoking is bad for your health so if you can avoid it you should.
