    Cool Injury Help

I have had a constant pain in my left foot for several weeks, it is on the instep side below the ankle but above the arch. The area is a little swollen and sore to the touch, but not red or inflamed. I don't remember hurting it! It could have been in a jog, when I was doing intermittent sprints, don't know. Anyway two weeks ago it fept me up all night, I went to the ER, they Xrayed and said nothing was broken, they recomended ibuprophen, and a Podiatrist.
A week later I saw my doc and he looked at the Xrays and said it was ligaments, he said stay off the foot and it will get better. This sucks, it hurts to walk, jog, yoga, lift, about all I can do is bike.
Has anyone had this? I would appreciate some good advice.

That sucks, sorry to hear that.

Sounds as if it may be ligaments. After some time of putting your body through exertion it will send you feedback to ease it up a bit. Take your Doc's advice and try to take it easy. That doesn't mean to not do anything at all. Ride that bike, do some pull ups maybe go swimming this can be an incredibe workout and a lot of fun as well.

Best of luck to you and hope it feels better soon.
Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

i had something like this, but only when i was getting ready for the shows. i was cutting all the fats and carbs out but still pushing the same weight. and yes your ligaments cant keep up with you and get you in some trouble. stay away from cardio for now, just lift weight and take it easy, with time it will go away. just change your diet a bit to cut your calories and you will be good to go. your body will adjust to it and pain will go away.

remember vitamins and multi minerals are NEEDED there is no if or but. you need to recover before killing your body again

yes that will add to it as well, but for now stay away from cardio get some rest to your foot and try to restore your body.

Be careful in your recuperation. The foot is actually a surprisingly complex and fragile part of the body. you do not want to do anything that will hurt it long term. I have had problems with bruised bones and those injuries really lasted.

1manage, I have heard of this in several different types of conditions. All of the recommendations are time and stretching. Stretch it out well in the morning when you get up. As you sleep the foot ligaments can stiffen up when not being used. Gradually get back into activity as it feels better. It sucks not being able to do what you want to do but there is not much worse than bad feet so go easy. Good luck
